Re: Into the Mountains

The mountains of Vlasta are not the only ones where threats linger, or indeed labour. The wizard's mysterious destination may lay undisturbed for now, but further south, in the foothills that rise from the Filur region, other matters may be more pressing. The scout Amber returns to Sarshel, and spre...

Re: Community - Player Praise

Thanks to all those involved in the hunt for a long dead PC, and the wrapping up of that particular storyline. A suitable climax to the subterranean searching, and some nice character development along the way - thanks all!

Re: Into the Mountains

With the relative lack of seasoned warriors, the expedition to the mountains is put on hold for now, although the group that did gather managed to push back an orc threat, albeit with more than a few bruises gathered on the way. Lori decides to hang around Vlasta for a few more days, to see if the o...

Re: Wizarding 101

Yea, for that example you would need both the scare and animate hinge spells memorised; I confess (it was over 2 years ago) I cant quite recall how it gives you the option to cast fear, but I did try the combinations out and they did work.

Re: Wizarding 101

One thing not mentioned is the wizardy prestige classes; I briefly tried out the High Mage in beta, and it looks a nice PrC. The High Mage spell combinations will suffer from a lower DC than a spell focussed wizard will have, but for some this doesn't matter, as they are either self affecting, or no...

Into the Mountains

Lori spreads word that she is looking for a few companions to venture into the mountains near Vlasta. She claims to have uncovered mention of some ruins, and although what may lie within them is not disclosed, some locals mutter about the "Stribog" and of places that should be left alone - but those...

Re: Wizarding frustrations

I guess there's a difference in approach we're not going to agree on, but if any of my PC's had a pile of items that were useless to them but they knew were useable by others, I would take the initiative in making sure they ended up with someone that could use them, whether thats trap or arcane comp...

Re: Wizarding frustrations

A rather narrow definition of success to just count levels, the likes of Hroin and Sagi are wonderfully memorable and interesting characters, and a lack of dungeon time can be as much a reflection of player availability as anything else.

Re: Wizarding frustrations

And another thing - cantrips: forget the damage ones, load up with daze, that actually can make a difference against low level foes (those with minds, of course!). Sometimes with low cr mobs, you don't need to do anything much, Lori spent the first part of her last dungeon trip doing nothing apart f...

Re: Tales of House Krathas, of Bezantur

It took a while, but Azruphel was eventually able to find a few buckets worth of coal in Outentown, and gathered them in one of the nearby caves, by the entrance. With some dried wood, she set a fire going, and tending it carefully, added the coals to the flames, watching as they caught the flames i...
