Re: Wizarding frustrations
Isalin is level 8, if I recall. But, generally mages have not been a very popular and successful class as compared to more melee oriented characters. Isalin must be recent then, at probably a year and a half of age. I'd argue though that mages being less successful than divine casters has been enti...

Re: Wizarding frustrations
It's not that they're stand-offish, it's just that you can't have meaningful conversations with a warrior... Everyone understands "take stick, smash with stick" so it's not hard to converse about a fighter's interests, but if you talk about your arcane passions their eyes glaze over and they change...

Re: Monk Discussion
I agree that monks getting easier access to magic items is a "bandaid" fix that doesn't address their underlying issues. The major downside to playing a monk currently is that monks are best in a higher magic, higher level environment than we currently face. The value of anti-caster bonuses increase...

Re: Wizarding frustrations
There's a ton of good advice here, and I would definitely echo it. Compared to a fighter a mage starts off very weak and vulnerable, but at level 8 a mage can contribute more to the group. The first few levels can be rough, but realistically you can explore to reach level 2 easily, and a few dungeon...

Re: Bite kits and poison / disease DC
My concern with the generally low success rates of bite kits comes down to their cost, which on average is higher than a potion of health by a significant margin. With a dungeon paying 200cp in loot, it's unsustainable to use the 200 cp in bite kits you might need to undo poison, and while you might...

Re: From the Ashes
Weeks pass, and Jerek is made cheerful by the progress in Sarshel, and makes an effort to spend some time each day in the square next to the stall of Laus Petheos. This allows him to watch the coming and going of various persons of interest, and he offers to help when he can with those preparing for...

Recruiting: Elethlim's Vanguard
A number of simple posters are placed around Sarshel's messageboards: http://i.imgur.com/EhhYICK.jpg This is meant to be a good-aligned mercenary group that PCs of any level can join, with an emphasis on efficient tactics, completing DM-given contracts, and utilizing various IC training materials J...

I have far too many wonderful experiences to share, but I found this picture and it made me smile.

Re: Sarshel - To Wake and to Sleep
Jerek would visit the sleeping priestess, with a simple poem spoken quietly and left by her bedside: "In cold winter sun rising, I saw a woman seeking, striving. Hair and heart and dress of gold, She is kind and gentle, brave and bold. Through shadow and demon's flame, Her voice of hope struck chord...

Re: Lore FAQ Thread
I also have a question: I haven't seen that much on magic and was wondering if there's any OOC rules or IC laws surrounding that. Fairly simple question that spans a large discussion, but there's only one tidbit about magic on the forums that I saw. But yeah, I would like to know if possible. ^^ Li...
