Copper's Sketchbook - The Deities of Faerun

Postby Copper Dragon » Sun Jan 03, 2016 4:37 pm

Greetings! Some are already familiar with my penchant for doodles, sketches and drawings - out of which I share some with the NWN community.

I'm a great admirer of all things epic, powerful or mystical, and what could be better thus described than deities like in the Forgotten Realms? I enjoy trying to depict them myself. Hopefully you'll like my versions of them, too.

~ Copper
Plays:
Artemis D'Assanthe, Dawnmaster
Udhana, the Kinless
Dhovainithil, Silver Elf
Jhasira of the Bai Kabor, Dawnbringer (deceased)

Tempus
Lord of Battles, the God of War, the Foehammer

Image
Spoiler:
Tempus appears as a giant of a man wearing plate armour that has been battered and bloodied by combat. Though his face is hidden by a massive helm (which his clergy are not allowed to emulate: if they wear helmets, they must be open-faced), his hooded gaze is a palpable force. He bears a great battleaxe or a black sword, notched and stained from much use, in his gauntleted hands.

Tempus does not win battles - Tempus helps the deserving warrior win battles. War is fair in that it oppresses all sides equally and that in any given battle, a mortal may be slain or become a great leader among his or her companions. War should not be feared, but seen as a natural force, a human force, the storm that civilisation brings by its very existence.
Plays:
Artemis D'Assanthe, Dawnmaster
Udhana, the Kinless
Dhovainithil, Silver Elf
Jhasira of the Bai Kabor, Dawnbringer (deceased)

That's the idea, indeed! Although I have yet to pick the next deity to draw.

Try the Triad! =D I'm seriously curious on your interpretation of those three.

I do like how Tempus looks a lot like some illustrations of Ares.
Would be interesting to see certain gods drawn in mortal contexts, if you feel like it.
