Golem in the swamp

Recently a group of adventurers uncovered a beast made of magic and stone roaming through the Vlasta bog gathering lumber and stone. While details are limited currently on everything, including why the logs and stone are disappearing every time it gets dropped off in front of an abandoned hut, how long it'll work, or even if it'll remain peaceful beyond self-defense.

A group of brave adventurers managed to uncover a fragile, smeared, and unintelligible map ripped at the edge and two things are only certain.

It's located in Impitur and it's close around the Vlasta region, any further deciphering would require some time and someone learned with maps and geography. Will this mystery ever get closure? It remains to be seen, as it lies in the hands of a few.

((A suggested route is the following:
Find someone that can decipher the map, you'll need to find a player with at least seven ranks in knowledge (geography) and need at least one day to decipher it successfully. There are other ways to handle this if you can imagine it, of course. Good luck!))

Kara did not stay near Vlasta the following day and left almost as soon she emerged from the swamp. Her form shifted and changed from human to hawk so the huntress could take flight to cover the distance south better.

She considered the thing as she soared over the forests. Magi giving false life to stone... No, it was not her hunt. This was for mages, this stone would not even bleed. She doubted her sword or claws would cut it deep anyway, eveb Hound of the Hunt struggled. The beast would be likely agitated next time she would call upon him, it had failed in this hunt; a hunt that would have preserved the forest that was getting destroyed. She figured a proper hunt would satisfy it soon enough though.

Kara considered those woods as the trees passed her by on the ground. Those mages would deal with the situation, or not. Even if the loss of wilds and hunting grounds in the land could be lamented, these were not her forests. They were far beyond the reach of where her attention was at the time and the huntress did not feel the urge to spread herself thin. She had to handle other matters closer to her own woods as well.

But those would have to wait for a little bit longer, as the hawk saw a flicker of movement below along the road, near the river that cut through the land. Before Kara knew it, after those keen avian eyes picked up the movement, she was already diving down to it. The mouse tried to get away when it realized danger was near, but sharp talons had already caught it. It screeched and flailed while Kara felt its blood spil out, and taking the mouse's life with it.

Good, she was getting hungry and she still had a long distance to cover after this meal. At least she got to spill some blood of a prey, rather than wade through more bogs.

The desolate emptiness of Vlasta was hardly the best place to undertake a leisurly study of the map - Lori's incination was to take that to Songhall, given the lack of insight that any of the party with its combined knowledge had shown as to its contents. She packed the map carefully, keeping it as dry as possible, and prepared to depart the village. Before her departure, however, she called on the few remaining merchants - Brias Dell at the smithy, and the herbalist Colee Nolcveck, and enquired about the names that were on the commoner's licences that Lori had picked up from the abandoned house. Had those traders - who, as Lori thought, would know most folk in this far flung village - ever heard of any of those follk?
