Stake out
Stake out
A couple of days now Alexander has found himself staking out a porthole in the Sarshell Alleyways, watching whatever movement he can if any at all. He'd watch from the shadows behind a corner or even from the rooftops at night. Every activity he would carefully pen down in his black notebook. Never staying more then a few hours not wanting to get caught doing so.
Characters:
Roland Arroway - Everwatch Knight of the Vigilant One
Alexander Kross - Hoarite Avenger
Roland Arroway - Everwatch Knight of the Vigilant One

Re: Stake out
Perry has also spent a fair amount of time up on the rooftops watching the same place. Today he met up with Mr. Kross and they exchanged note, which was basically nothing. They agreed to work together in an attempt to learn more about this place. There is just something odd about it that does not quiet fit.
Re: Stake out
Days pass and Alexander does not give up on his investigation of the location, watching it from diffirent vantage points each time. Returning to watch it at diffirent times day and night.

Re: Stake out
Perry continues to watch when he has time. He is especially trying to notice someone enter to determine what receipt or kind of one must be shown to enter.

Re: Stake out
The brightest light of day might not be able to reveal the movements of Alexander Kross and Perry Quietfoot, who, masterful of their craft for discretion, have thus far remained undetected by anybody down below in the alleyways. From time to time, their watch is perturbed by a crying infant, or an injured man in pain as he sleeps at night: a Warsword with night terrors, perhaps. It is of no consequence to the house that they watch.
By night, a rather unfriendly-looking pooch sits on the doorstep of the porthole. The locals skirt its territory, knowing better than to antagonise it. They do not seem afraid of the house, but when neighbours come knocking to ask after the welfare of children, or suggesting a night of drinking at The Belle's Bottom, or The Sailor's Star, it is never upon this tenement's door which they knock.
Alexander Kross determines that each man going to and from the house - wrapped as all of them are in a concealing cowl - is a human: none have the lightness of the Elven-blooded few, and none are of the smaller races. A bouncer that rarely ventures from the house is most certainly as Orcish as he is human. Imposing and brutish, he looks like trouble. Don't they all?
Perry Quietfoot learns that it is not a receipt which is shown at the door, though hands pass out of pockets and misleadingly behind cloaks and into the shadow of the men's hoods to touch their face: they practice a guild signal. Thieves Cant. They are permitted only when a distinct set of movements are performed, and on one night the Halfling's ear picks up some uttered word, but with the bustle of Sarshel's alleyways, it is not clear what is said from this distance. At risk of blowing their cover, one or both of the investigators will need to get closer...

Re: Stake out
After another day or two and watching from a bit different advantage point, Perry is sure he knows the initial password to enter. It is when the doorman asks for a package that requires a specific response in the Cant that he is still unsure of. So he retreats back to his house and sits at his desk trying to determine which disguise would work best to move closer to the door the next time someone is about to enter. His first choice is a close shave and then dressing as a ragged street urchin due to his height. Still he ponders if that would work the best or not. There is not really enough traffic to pose as a beggar so he rules that thought out.

Re: Stake out
With morale in the city waning as the weather makes the day-to-day full of chores and hardship, the activity around the alleyways becomes bolder; and the criminals, more authoritative. Traffic to and from the dwelling becomes more frequent. Women and young ladies alike are ushered to and from the location that Alexander Kross and Perry Quietfoot are staking out on a regular basis. There is fair cause to doubt the philanthropy of this new development.
