It is on the Tenth of Mirtul that Wynna Blackwing, the Cormyrian scholar of some middling renown, begins to make idle inquiry throughout strained, terrified Sarshel and beyond in regards to an upcoming incursion out into the woods to the south. Possessed of a firmer, more resolute air than she has had since the day of the demonic attack, Wynna sets about tracking down various woodsmen, friends, and adventurers of renown who might be able to assist her in this work.
Their destination, she will admit freely, is the Grove of Silvanus that lies to the south, within the Wood of Tusks, where it is rumored that a conflict between a local goblinoid and kenku tribe will soon reach a boiling point. It would seem Miss Blackwing has developed some manner of interest in this conflict, either in resolving it to the satisfaction of civilized Impiltur by destroying both, or simply in seeing the Grove to the Oakfather freed of such malign influence.
Those who find these motives odd for the city-dwelling scholar might very well be right to think so, though Wynna is remiss to discuss such things liberally or in public places. It's probable that those well acquainted with her would be easily capable of finding out more. To the common eye, however, the fact that she travels almost perpetually in the company of the woodswoman Aleira Nemesk might be an indication that her interest is perhaps motivated by some dedication to the ranger-woman's ideals, and her reverence for the Lord of the Woods. Nemesk especially being a foremost expert on the habits of goblinoids, one might imagine that this represents a personal affront to her.
Regardless of her true motives, Miss Blackwing continues to seek those who would help her in this endeavor.
[OOC: Feel free to state interest or fish for more details in this thread, but this is primarily a place to garner interest in an event that will occur in-game some time in the near future. I'm looking for, probably, around four to five extra PCs to accompany on top of the three I likely already have. This event will involve a fair amount of combat, and a possible shoe-in-the-door towards an interesting server-wide plot.]

Re: The Grove and the Blade
It is said that the arcanist Gwendolynn might be involved in lending her arcane talents towards this goal. The spellsword has been spotted visiting the home the scholar lives in before and has conversed with the ranger Aleira Nemesk on numerous occassion. With how Gwendolynn has often travelled with Wynna and on occassion with Aleira as well, the rumours may even hold a grain of truth. But who knows, when it comes to mages?
Likely the two involved in the expedition, at least.

Re: The Grove and the Blade
The hedge knight Merney Valroc, more oft than not seen in the company of those said to be involved with this particular foray, is surmised to be accompanying them yet again, given his frequent visits to the scholar's abode. The man is seen clad increasingly often in his armour, seldom leaving it behind, perhaps a by-product of tumultuous times.

Re: The Grove and the Blade
Kelda Adler expresses support of the expedition and passes on prayers for its success--surprisingly, perhaps, the priestess seems to care about encroachments on the woodland god--but seems unlikely to be able to devote any time to helping, perpetually busy as she is with restoration efforts in the church and city.
Re: The Grove and the Blade
If Celith were to hear of this his aid would be quickly offered, seeming to take offense at the idea of Silvanus' grove being disturbed by these creatures and clearly holding some sort of discontent towards goblinkind and these Kenku. He would offer his expertise against the goblinoids and whatever aid might be offered to clear the influence of the theirs and the Kenku on the grove, though one wouldn't need to look hard to see some amount of caution at the interest Wynna seems to have in this.
