The marshlands around the Prince's Road are awash with rumors. The various thaedars, though few and far between, have had families, spouses, and other women related to them disappear without a trace. All in their twenties, all off to a walk to the well, to a friend's, back home... and all gone. If one would count, the last few tendays have seen the disappearance of near a score of women. Some believe it to be an angry spirit, or perhaps the adverse effects of Wolf Winter and the daemonic activity to the south... though others speculate more mundane happenings.
These rumors travel down south within time, and one might even encounter a haggard old man at the Outentown tavern, asking around for able bodies; for rangers, for mercenaries, anyone willing to help. He cries out for mercy over his daughter for those few that have come by and refused the aid, finding his pay meagre for such a vague task.
Others such as he may be found elsewhere, though they are all made quiet by the frozen howl of the wind.

It did not take long before a broken one in the red and gray caught wind of the old man's plea and traveled to Outentown in order to meet him and offer aid. Anton explained that all the man had to do was accept the small worry stone that was handed to him, focus, and share everything he knew about his daughter's disappearance. If any other drifters were keen on coming to the father's aid, Anton welcomed them aboard.

Damien Fletcher encounters the man before his usual trek back up to Songhall. Listening to his pleas, he resolved to join whatever expedition this lead to, whether it was out of sympathy or simply academic interest.

Being pretty active around Outentown, eventually these rumors will also arrive at Cassandra's attentive ears. Of course her extremely compassionate nature along with her high sense of justice would force here to intervene, so an evening, after her usual shift with the Brother Garmin at the Shelter, she'd listen carefully to the man's pleas and asked him further details about theses strange disapparences, in particular the last locations where they were seen and of their homes, convinced that the blessings of the Broken God and her mind would be helpful to solve this mystery.
Then she'd offer him a meal at the tavern and words of comfort and wisdom, trying to reassure him on his daughter's fate.

The hedge knight, Merney Valroc, breaks from the company of Outentown's guardian, Aleira Nemesk, though perhaps the woman might follow suit, to listen to the old man's words, his aid soon pledged to his cause without any demands of compensation.

To each and all that would hear his plight, the old man would respond with the same blabber in Easting...
"Oh, 'tis absolutely terrible, my friend! One night, my dear Olya went out to speak with her friend, as she usually does after the work around the house is done, and she did not return! Her friend did not see her, and neither did anyone else around. Please, you have to find her, I beg of you!"
There is little from him that would make the search any easier or more possible, but all other stories seem to point at similar details, with little to no exception or difference.

Strange happenings are heard of in the bogs near Vlasta. An abandoned home on a hill overlooking the marshes seems to come aglow with faint, blue light in the evening hours, and those that would draw near would hear the mournful wailings of a grieving woman, hollowed out and empty - a voice carried on the wind.
Some connect this to recent disappearances along the Prince's Road, but most that hear of this story speculate its legitimacy.

In time, Merney makes to gather those willing to aid in the matter, particularly those of divine background and vocation, speaking of the spirit of a woman confided to the crumbling walls of a solitary house in the bogs. Damien, Anton and Cassandra are all informed of the hedge knight's intentions to see the spirit freed from its sorrow, though he encourages each of them to seek out a servant or two of the divine, and should others be willing to offer aid, he seems disinclined to turn away help.
