+1 More options for wizards is always nice.

Could you explain how this class differs thematically from Bard, and what its upsides and downsides are compared to a Rogue/Wizard build?

The below is all my personal opinion! If any has to add to it, please, don't hesistate.
Where a Bard is more a entertainer, or a troubadour/motivator/inspirer, the Arcane Trickster employs their skill-set to further whatever plans (nefarious or otherwise) they may have.
I feel the biggest difference between the both is that a bard is supposed to be a class that is in the spotlight, whereas the Arcane Trickster would much prefer to not do so.
And let's be honest. It's insanely fun to build a concept around this PRC/Class
. I am always a fan of more classes/prc's so that we may differentiate our concepts from each other even further, which I guess us all to be.
