During the past month, several new areas were added, including 4 new dungeons, some made for low level solo PCs. There were numerous fixes in old areas.

Solo rogue dungeon is completed and needs further testing. Several small changes added in other areas. Halls of Prosperity finished.

The latest hak update includes the following changes to equipment types:

- Small Shields lose their armour check penalty (was -1 previously)
- Heavy Crossbows increase their weight from 9 to 14 lbs
- Warhammers increase their weight from 8 to 12 lbs
- Light Hammers get a 20x4 critical hit multiplier (up from 20x2)
- Clubs get a 19-20 critical hit range (up from 20x2)
- Tridents get an 18-20 critical hit range (up from 20x2)
- Morningstars get a d6 damage die (down from d8)
- Quarterstaves get a d8 damage die (up from d6)
- Kamas deal both slashing and piercing damage (up from slashing)

It also corrects a bug preventing Whirlwind Attack from being selected.

During the past several months we have added several new areas, including the new tavern in Docks, The Two Swans. Some dungeons had been slightly modified to increase the chance of magical items in the loot, some encounters have been tweaked.

There are still new additions that would require some testing, so take care.

Oh, one more thing, you can now port from OOC to Vlasta and Filur.

The new version should be running on 5th March. If some of you have experienced issues with exiting the OOC area, illegal PC notifications, etc. those issues should be sorted out now.

We're currently working on a number of race and class changes (see below for details). As a consequence, it's possible that certain characters will experience error messages when they try to level up, or that newly created characters will be flagged as invalid. We hope to iron out such issues in the days ahead, but please feel free to contact us if you run into problems like this so we can you find a manual solution instead.
For other issues like retroactively getting your new character feats or altering your build choices to take better advantage of the new options, we ask you to await confirmation that everything is working as it should. That will likely coincide with a hak update announcement.

Changes
- Elves no longer gain a bonus to Sense Motive.

- Half-Elves lose most of their bonuses. Instead, they gain +1 CHA, learn an additional language and gain a +1 bonus to all skills in which they have at least one point invested (Perception and Search always gain this bonus, even without skillpoints).

- Half-Orcs may add their STR modifier to Intimidate checks (in addition to their CHA). Once per 24 hours, when they start bleeding, they also start from -1 HP even if they were dealt more damage and they then gain +5 on the check to be left alone by attackers.

- Sorcerers and Wizards will only get a +2 skill bonus from their familiar instead of +3, but casting a spell in the presence of your familiar increases effective Caster Level by 1.

- Sorcerers also gain fewer mid-level spell slots and learn fewer cantrips, but they gain more cantrip slots and learn more high level spells.

- Rogues now halve their Sneak Attack dice when their Armour Check Penalty is -5 or greater (effectively, while using a Tower Shield, or wearing Breastplate or heavier armour). This does not stack with reduced sneak attack dice from the use of non-finesse weapons or ranged weapons, so using a bow in full plate has the same penalty as using a greatsword in studded leather for example.

- Fighters will get their Heavy Armour proficiency at level 2 rather than level 1, and gain their bonus feats a little later as well (the level 1 feat moves to level 3, the level 4 feat moves to level 5).

- The Monk class has a heavily revised feat list with a number of new abilities. The core feature is the ability to swap feats and abilities on a daily basis to combine different strengths in the same character, without granting all of them at the same time. For more of a description on the different Monk feats, please see the relevant suggestion thread.

Please note that the TER tlk file, TFK_2da hak and TFK_por hak have been updated as a result of the rules changes described above. More detailled information about the changes can also be found on the wiki.

You can use the new haks (and/or override) to create PCs according to the new rules.
We will begin updating the class and racial feats of existing characters over the following week.

If your character build is significantly affected by these updates, please feel free to put in a LETO request for changes.

We'd like to clarify a couple of points related to the updates:
- Fighter characters of level 1, 2 and 4 may lose a bonus feat they have already selected. It can of course be taken again when they next level up. A Fighter's total bonus feats remain unchanged, they merely come a little later.
- We will not strip the Heavy Armour proficiency from existing Fighter 1 multiclasses because of the cost and effort involved in obtaining their equipment. These characters can continue to wear the heavy armour they have assembled.
- For existing Sorcerers, no changes will be made to their Known Spells until they go through the level-up process.
