Jerek's Poetry

Postby Toros » Fri Jun 24, 2016 3:42 am

OOC: Only one copy of this book exists, and it is in his house. Anyone who has had IC time to browse would be able to have read the first poem already, but the latest one was penned 6-23-16.

The first page:
Warm red sun, color splendid,
Has the day begun or ended?
Sweet red flower brings blush to cheeks,
Twixt crimson sheets, climbing peaks
Soft red hair, blessed of Sune,
Gentle lips in darkened room
Reddened skin, flushed with pleasure,
Silken cord a lover's tether
As red fruit ripens ‘neith harvest moon,
Does treasure grow in ruby womb
Too much red from life can seep,
The faithful pray, and lovers weep
Standing o'er cold funeral stone,
In a crowd, yet still alone.
Happiness is not an event,
But in how a life can be spent
Love can hurt in loss, tis true,
But their greatest joy was you
With bright red eyes, from recent sorrow,
Know sanguine light begins tomorrow

The second page:
Though we strive to follow divine plan,
word of gods rend the dreams of man.

A worthy cause both just and holy,
yet my heart is pained and lonely.

To a sudden grave my hopes interred,
from two as one I wished a third.

Pulled from my wife, best friend and lover,
what if her heart finds another?

With every battle and vicious raid,
heroes are torn and martyrs made.

In bloodshed may lie my early death,
her name released with dying breath.

Now cut off from who I hold most dear,
my foes hearts should be filled with fear.

With no lover's touch to quench my ire,
I will build them a funeral pyre.

They will die in droves, in hordes,
strangled with Ilmateri cords.

Maybe then she will return one day,
the answer only gods may say.
