Thaumaturgist Dessedren - Confidential Correspondence

Miss Highblade,
I can scarcely think it so, but are you returned to Impiltur? With my brother's passing, I have attempted to reach further into the study of Divination - a field always more his than mine, yet vital to our research. I heard nothing from you to know of your departure, and was certain that I had been abandoned to my studies! Miss Highblade, I shall not lie in letters, and pretend I did not utter a curse in the same sentence with your very name, but I see hope restored with your returning. Is our arrangement forsaken? Say it is not so, for I am urgent with intelligence of where next to investigate in my pursuits, yet have not the power to strike out in the direction myself.
The privacy to continue my studies within the fortress of Songhall and do so peacefully does, I trust, mean that we have a continued confidentiality. I have written to Vlasta for you: a misguided notion, perhaps, for whosoever should seek to go there surely is lacking for ambition, but what vagaries that Divination revealed to me alluded to your presence there. If it is so, write back to me posthaste, that I might know where we stand. A fellow Cormyrian, I will hold you to your word. Are we allies? I will speak no more of my discoveries until I know.
With expedience,
Thaumaturgist Dessedren
